Day Two - Epcot Extra Magic Hours

Alisha eventually regroups with the Fam
After running myself ragged going to Epcot, back to the resort, changing into Elizabeth, back to Epcot, back to the resort, changing back into civvies, and then back to Epcot, I rendezvoused with the rest of my family after Illuminations, and we got to enjoy the Extra Magic Hours exclusive to resort guests after the park had closed to the public.

After enjoying another run on Soarin', just for mom, we headed over to the Living Seas for Turtle Talk with Crush.

Mr. Puffer fish! Dad helped me take a picture of this little guy in the low light setting by using his flashlight to illuminate his tank while I took a picture. He was so friendly! Kept wiggling up against the glass and smiling at the people with that goofy pufferfish smile. :D

We were really enjoying the aquatic life that was there for us to discover while we waited in the lobby for the show to start. Daniel and I were entranced by the moon jellyfish... maybe we should consider getting some (no really- they have jellyfish kits online!). :D I'll bet mom would love that. Me bringing exotic and unusual critters home is her new favorite thing.

I got to ask Crush a question, too! I asked him what determines the gender of his offspring- a lead-in to one of my favorite facts about green sea turtles. (We all have one of those picked out, don't we? ......Just me?  Okay. ) He told us that it's all determined by the temperature of the sand the eggs are laid in. If the eggs are laid in a cooler temperature, all the offspring will hatch as males, and if they're laid in a warmer temperature, they'll all be girls. He added that that's why dudes are tooootally cool, and chicks are TOTALLY HOT! It's a scientific fact, dude. Uh-huh.

Dad couldn't resist another ride on the Test Track before we headed out, (Adrenaline to bed, Adrenaline to rise makes a man what, exactly?) and then we headed out, and when we got back to the car, we found that some yahoo had deserted their wheelchair right up against our car. Dad rolled it back to mom in case she thought she couldn't make it the rest of the way, but Daniel caught it and hopped in, wheeling around and having a good time. Dad admitted that he was pretty good, but wanted to know how his 'mad wheelie skills' were. Exchanging places, Dad climbed into the wheelchair, and to everyone's shock and awe, he got the wheelchair to go up and pivot.........! and then it wobbled and teetered and tipped him over backwards onto the asphalt. Fret not, he was perfectly fine, and I don't think any of us have laughed that hard in our lives. It was one of those wonderful, rare moments where Dad acts like a little kid, and I hope I never forget it.

And then we all went home, and the other three lucky ducks ditched ME this time and went to bed while I got crackin' updating you all on our adventures.  But now that I'm done, I gotta hit the sack cause we're getting up early tomorrow morning for my favorite park, Animal Kingdom!

(Daniel took this incredible picture, by the way. I think it's easily as good as any professional pictures of Spaceship Earth I've ever seen.)
