Day One - Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney

It's more or less tradition to spend the first night after we be settled into our hotel room, wandering around and window shopping at Downtown Disney. Cause everyone wants to jump right into the Disney experience, but it doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense to buy tickets to a theme park when you're tire and its already dusk. So, Downtown Disney is the place to be! And besides, there's nothing quite like one of my favorite stores:

Heck. Yes. This store isn't so much a spoonful of sugar to whet your appetite to things to come so much as an all-out sugar-rush extravaganza.

After devouring at the best BBQ chicken pizza I've ever had like it was my last meal at Wolfgang Puck Café, Mom realized she'd spaced on bringing earrings and picked some up at the Disney Store, and the rest of us meandered individually though the rooms taking it all in.

Eventually though, we lost track of Daniel, (and not me for once) and no wonder, because right next door was this bad boy:

Freaking ridiculously huge Lego statue of Maleficent dueling with Prince Phillip?(who's still a pansy).

Daniel went in and browsed the store, being an avid Star Wars Lego collector, while the parents and I wandered about outside and appreciated the new statues they'd added this year, like this one of Woody and Buzz, strapped to Sid's rocket:

Afterwards, we got shaved ice and roasted nuts from a snack stand and headed over to finish the night off at MY favorite Downtown Disney haunt, The Art of Disney, and I probably broke several rules taking pictures of some of my favorites.
